Join us at the Fireproof Building for a special program by Eric Emerson with the South Carolina Department of Archives and History!
The South Carolina Department of Archives and History (SCDAH) will be at the Fireproof Building on June 27th with a traveling exhibit highlighting some of the most important documents from the early years of the American Revolution, "Foundations of a Revolution: South Carolina, 1775–1777." The South Carolina Constitution of 1776 will be on display, along with discussion of the 1775 Articles of Association for the District East of the Wateree, and the 1777 Treaty of DeWitt’s Corner. These documents are part of the vast collection documenting the history of South Carolina held by the SCDAH and are seldom placed on public display.
Eric Emerson from SCDAH will lead a special presentation on the documents and place them in the context of their production at 2pm.
This is a free event, but space is limited. Registration is required!
